I went with an 8 String because a 10 string probably damps the cone more.
Tuning is 5-b7-1-3-5-1-3-2 (in E).
I remember Buddy, at Jeff's, would go around to students steels and strum them acoustically, probably gauging resonance.
I often do the same, and very pleased at the sound.
With A & B pedals pressed, the detuning of the E's is about -4 cent's.
The guitar is beautiful with some great flamed maple.
Thank you, Jimmie Hudson!

Cop some Keith Whitley licks and give us samples.

That's great. I tune mine which is a 8 string to D. E F# D A F# D A G. With A and B pedals down I
I've got a G tuning. Looking forward to hearing you play it.
