Any new flat wound strings?

Post by Gerald Ross »

It's been a long time since I've posted on the forum. I've really been out of the steel guitar loop for about twenty years. Wow! It looks like the non-pedal steel is exploding in popularity. I notice many younger (under 50 8)) people getting in to it as well. This is very good news.

I am getting a double neck six-string soon and was wondering if there are any new flat wound strings on the market. I have been using D'Adarrio Chromes. I've been happy with them and they are easy to find in online stores.

Anyway... anything new in this very small flat wound world?

Just like the old days … 🤪

I think Chromes are still the best … they give you that haunting sound …

I put Thomastik Infeld flats on my Fender and love them, they are kinda expensive though.
